DEER Tiles Wins Gold Award for Marble Tiles at the CICA 2019 Design Award

On 10 October, the 7th China–Italy Ceramic Design Competition Awards Ceremony, jointly organised by the Italian Association of Ceramic Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers (ACIMAC) and Ceramic Town Weekly, was grandly held in Foshan.
The Italian Premium Stone Series – Luna Grey, designed by DEER Tiles’ Product R&D Director and senior Italian designer Roberto, stood out among numerous high-quality ceramic tile entries. With its unique pattern design and advanced super anti-scratch technology, the product was awarded the highest honour in ceramic design — The Gold Award for Marble Tiles at the CICA 2019 Design Award.
Three years earlier, Mr. Nan Shun Zhi led the DEER Tiles R&D team across renowned stone-producing regions in Italy, Turkey, and France in search of rare and premium natural stones. During this journey, the team discovered the distinctive Luna Grey marble in Italy.
After acquiring the original stone and bringing it back for development, DEER Tiles’ Product R&D Director and senior Italian designer Roberto spent more than three months meticulously recreating its texture and appearance, successfully transforming it into a highly realistic marble-look porcelain tile.
The Italian Luna Grey marble-look tiles create spaces that feel elegant, modern, and refined, making them highly suitable for contemporary interior styles such as modern luxury and minimalist design.
Favoured by design-conscious consumers and widely selected by professional designers, this collection has become a preferred choice for high-end residential and architectural projects.
It is reported that the judging panel for this competition comprised representatives from leading Italian industry institutions, internationally recognised designers, Chinese ceramic technology experts, and Ceramic Town Weekly.
Following strict and professional evaluation standards, the panel selected ceramic tile products that effectively integrate local resources with Italian equipment and technology, while demonstrating advanced design concepts and high-quality manufacturing standards.
With a strong panel of judges and a large number of entries, the competition highlighted excellence in ceramic tile design, innovation, and product quality.
